Farmer’s Market is back in Old Town La Quinta!  October kicks off with a bang in Old Town… and that marks the return of the Certified Farmers’ Market to Main Street in Old Town La Quinta.

The first Farmers’ Market of the season is this Sunday, October 5 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and it will continue Sundays through May 24, 2015. (Closed on Easter.)

The popular weekly market features produce, herbs, honey, nuts, cheese, fresh cut flower bouquets, fresh baked breads, live chef demos, knife sharpening, fresh meats, music and more.  For info visit: certifiedfarmersmarket.org.  Sponsored by The Palm Springs Cultural Center.

The Wine Bar in Old Town La Quinta is moving across the street after many years in the same location!  Saturday July 26th is the last day it will be open until it re-opens Labor Day weekend as The Wine Bar Bistro in it’s new location on Avenida La Fonda- former site of The Desert Sage.

The Wine Bar Bistro will serve a full bar with cocktails, and an expanded dinner menu.  They will still focus on great wine, wine tastings, wine club and a moderately priced menu.

We look forward to enjoying The Wine Bar Bistro when it opens for next season in Old Town La Quinta!

Creative Marketing Just Featured in a Market Leader Guide

I wrote a blog about a year ago about one of my marketing ideas for creating custom business cards for each listing.  Thanks to Cathy Bureau, I found out that my idea was featured in the Market Leader Creative Print Marketing Guide!  They urge us all to always have “compelling ideas”!

 

When I get a new listing one of the first things I do after taking photos is to create a business card featuring the property for sale.  I heard about this idea at a real estate conference years ago- and I haven’t seen any of my competitors utilizing it.  I have found that I can create my own cards using VistaPrint for under $50/250 cards.  

Each card is double-sided with 2 of the best photos of the home, usually enhancing the best feature such as the view.  Then I include my contact information, my website, a link to the listing information, and of course, the address. Some properties I have created a custom QR Code that I also include on the card.   I find that when you give these to the seller… they are more than happy to pass them out!  They are pleased with your creativity and can’t wait to share them with their friends, or anyone that they think might be interested in the house.  I also have them in the flyer box at the listing, pass them out at Open Houses, and use them as  a business card as long as I have the listing.

When you follow Washington Drive south in La Quinta and come to the end… you have reached the Tradition Golf Club.  As you enter the hacienda style guard gate a surprising amount of land opens up beneath the mountains. Tradition Golf Club boasts an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole par 3 course, each impeccably designed by Arnold Palmer for a rewarding golf experience regardless of one’s skill level. La Quinta Resident Card :  You must live in La Quinta to Qualify!

As agents and ambassadors to our city of La Quinta we are often asked if residents here receive special consideration, or discounts for golf.  When the resident program first began, you could qualify for a resident discount if you had a copy of your home closing statement, and a copy of a utility bill with your name on it.

The policy has now changed and home ownership no longer entitles “residents” to the locals discount.  You must now produce a California Drivers License with your La Quinta address on it.  

Unfortunately this disqualifies many 2nd home buyers who purchase property here, but do not live here full time.
